About Scuba Du
Two brothers from Cuernavaca, Jorge & Jose de la Fuente, came to Cozumel after getting Certified as Instructors in the USA. After some years of hard work, they had managed to start their own dive shop called SCUBA SCUBA located in dowtown Cozumel. Jorge de la Fuente was also the Manager of the then dive shop at the Presidente Hotel. And when the Hotel asked Jorge to take over the diving concession, Jorge and Jose, along with Gabriel Nayar who had been in the dive business in Cozumel for many years, joined forces and together opened SCUBA DU on the beach at El Presidente Hotel in 1992. Since then the business has grown to a fleet of 6 custom dive boats, and over 40 employees. From the start SCUBA DU stood out as one of the safest dive operators in Cozumel, as the Owners are all Instructors (Retired), and have always held the client’s safety as the highest priority of the business.
We have been called “conservative” by some divers seeking very aggressive profiles, but the majority of the divers we see like it that way.
This core philosophy is the backbone of our daily operations, and combined with our personal service, and fun and easy going Professional Staff, have resulted in legions of happy return clients who for years have continued to choose SCUBA DU. Scuba Du Dive Fleet
All Scuba Du dive boats are equipped with DAN oxygen units and VHF radios, all captains, mates and Dive Masters are licensed by the Marine Park and have many years experience, they are also very professional and friendly and will work hard to make sure you have a great day.
