Formerly called the Resort Course
This is your chance to discover the underwater world and see the sunken barge coral formations located just off the beach of the Presidente Hotel.
This two hour course consists of a discussion session of about 45 minutes. Following this you will join your ScubaDu P.A.D.I. Instructor in the water where you will be asked to perform some simple skills. After successfully completing these skills, the real fun begins. Now you can examine, up close, the corals and marine life waiting for you just offshore. There are sights you won’t see snorkeling.
This course includes all equipment, instruction, and the beach dive with your PADI Certified Scuba Instructor.
Minimum age 10 years old.
Welcome back to SCUBA! Has it been a while (more than 2 years) since you donned a tank and took the plunge? This 3-hour course will serve to review your diving knowledge and skills, and will get you ready to get back into active and safe Certified dive trips.
You will be reviewing basic diving skills and theory such as the use of Dive Tables, and your Instructor will assist you in the set-up of dive equipment. A short confined water session will serve to review basic skills such as regulator clearing and recovering, mask clearing and buoyancy control, etc.
Experienced Diver Certification
If you are certified but have not been diving for many years (5 years or longer), it is necessary that you review the academic part as well as the water skills with an Instructor.
You will be required to complete the P.A.D.I. “SCUBA TUNE-UP” text & exercise book, and the Instructor will go through basic diving theory and Dive Tables, to ensure that you gain the necessary knowledge to plan your dives and be a safe diver.
The course is conducted over 2 days and includes 3 open water dives, 1 from the beach and two boat dives.
For the experienced diver who doesn’t hold an Open Water Certification, this course can be used to certify a person who has proof of a minimum of 20 logged dives.

Nitrox – What is it?
Any combination of Oxygen and Nitrogen = Nitrox. In fact, you have been breathing it since the day you were born! Air consists of approximately 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen. You could call the air we breathe for “Natural Nitrox”. Nitrogen mixtures with more than 21% of oxygen is called Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx). The two commenly used EANx mixtures for diving are EAN32 (32% oxygen + 68% nitrogen) and EAN36 (36% oxygen and 64% nitrogen). No-decompression tables are available for these mixtures.
-Who uses Nitrox?
In 1996 PADI introduced their EANx Specialty for recreational divers. A number of diving associations are now offering Nitrox certifications as an alternative to air in recreational diving. SCUBA-DU Instructors can certify you either through P.A.D.I or I.A.N.T.D to become a Nitrox Diver. EANx has been used extensively since the 1950’s in commercial diving and in the military world wide. Advanced and Technical divers have been taking advantage of EANx benefits for cave and wreck diving for a number of years.
Why EANx?
The benefits: EANx has many benefits over air. Some of the applications in recreational diving are:
Is Nitrox for deep diving?
Many divers make the mistake in thinking that Nitrox is for deep diving. The depth range for EANx is the same as for recreational air dives: from 40 – 130 feet.
Isn’t it dangerous?
When you got certified you were taught how to keep track of your nitrogen while diving by using dive tables. The deeper you dive, the less time you can spend under water due to nitrogen absorbtion and accumulation. The same principle applies to oxygen. A set of tables makes it easy to keep track of your oxygen absorbtion. The newest dive computers keep track of both you nitrogen and oxygen while diving.
Can I use standard diving equipment?
YES!! EAN32 and EAN36 can be used with your conventional SCUBA gear. Only the tanks has to be marked and dedicated to Enriched Air Nitrox use.
Can I dive compressed Air and Nitrox the same day?
YES!! User friendly dive tables for Nitrox are based on the same principle as air tables, and they are compatible. You can plan air dives followed by Nitrox dives just like you have always done for repetetive diving.
Do I have to be certified to use Nitrox?
YES!! P.A.D.I has an EANx Specialty for advanced certified divers. The course consists of 2 hours theory followed by 2 open water dives breathing nitrox. Ask our instructors for more information about the course.
PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty
P.A.D.I now offers the EaNx course to Advanced Certified (or equivalent). Like any other PADI specialty, the EANx counts towards the Master Scuba Diver rating and you will receive the Enriched Air Nitrox Diver certification card upon completion of the course.
Equivalent: Certified divers with proof of experience beyond open water level, and with at least 20 logged dives, including night dives and dives to 100 feet.
The course consists of a two hour class including dive planning with Nitrox Tables, followed by two open water dives breathing Nitrox, in the recreational depth range (40 – 110 feet). You can be certified in a single day and enhance your diving experience!!
The Nitrox Certification includes a new Nitrox Book and 3 new dive tables, 2 dives, Instructor training and the Nitrox Certification Card, not included is the dive equipment or the Marine Park fee.
