When is the best time of year to visit Cozumel?

Cozumel is great all year! The quietest time here would be September - November. Summer and spring (March - August) is the hottest time and is considered high season.


Where is the dive shop located?

Our shop is located in the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental. Check our location on Google Maps.


I’m staying on the mainland (Playa del Carmen or Cancun).

You will need to take a 45 min ferry from Playa del Carmen, then a 10 minute taxi to meet us at our shop in Hotel Presidente for departure Google Maps.


Should I book in advance or should I wait until I arrive in Cozumel?

We recommend that you book your diving in advance through the following email: scubadu@usa.net


How far in advance should I make a reservation?

Ideally, dive reservations should be made at least 3 days in advance. However, we do take reservations 12 hours prior to day trips as long as we have space available.

How do I make my payment?

  • All prices are in US dollars.
  • Booking deposits are done thru PayPal or cash deposit.
  • We accept payments in cash US dollars & Pesos, Credit Cards and Paypal.

How do we check in with you when we arrive in Cozumel?

  • All divers are required to check-in at our shop one day before OR on the first day of their booked services 30 minutes prior to the departure start time.
  • If staying on any ocean front Hotel/Resort/Accomodation south of our dive store and would like a pick up for your days of diving, we kindly ask you to check - in at our dive store 1 day in advance. Check our location on Google Maps.
  • Dive store operation hours: Mon - Sun / 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
  • We only pick up at ocean front location south of our dive store on the way to the reefs. No extra fees for pickups.
  • Some of the most popular ocean front locations include: Landmark Resort, Fiesta Americana, Paradise Condos, Costa del Sol Villas, Sunscape Sabor, Secrets Aura Resort, Allegro Hotel, Occidental Grand, Iberostar.

At what time are your departures?

Our morning 2 tank trips depart our dive store at 8:00 am and our afternoon trips depart at 1:30 pm.


What is a normal dive profile?

All of our dives are tailored to meet the desires and objectives of our divers. However, a normal day with us would be a wall dive to a depth of 70-80 feet (multi-level profile) with the bottom time determined by your air consumption and dive computer. The second dive is normally a shallower dive between 40 and 60 feet. Our average bottom times range between 40 and 50 minutes.


Can I dive without certification?

Yes you can, as we offer the Discover Scuba Diving course. It will teach you basic skills of scuba diving during a brief theory and confined water session before joining our dives to enjoy the stunning underwater world. Book here.


Do you require dive insurance?

We strongly recommend scuba diving insurance such as Divers Alert Network (DAN). We are a DAN Industry Partner, and we can help you apply for it. This insurance should be secured before your arrival in Cozumel. Click here to join DAN for only $35 USD.


Can I clean and dive store my equipment at your base?

Yes! Our VIP equipment specialist will happily rinse, dry, and safely store your dive equipment for you ($5 USD per day per dive set).


Who fills our tanks?

Meridiano 87, an authentic Cozumel company with more than 23 years of experience in filling diving tanks, is an authorized distributor INFRA Group and is the only industrial oxygen filling station on the Island of Cozumel with the highest standards of quality and purity.


What size of tanks do you have?

We can supply 60, 80, and 100 cubic foot aluminium tanks.


Do you supply Nitrox tanks?

Yes, EAN 32% or 36% in 80 and 100 cubit feet are available for an additional charge ($22 USD) and must be requested in advance.


How many divers are on the dive boat?

Our boats are the best boats around! They are custom designed, spacious, comfortable, and fast. Scuba Du I can board 14 divers, Scuba Du II & Scuba Du IV can board 12 divers, and Scuba Du III & Scuba Du V can board 14 divers. Our dives include one PADI dive master per each 7 divers in order to provide the best personal service.


Can non-divers come along for the ride on the boat?

Yes! They are more than welcome to come along (extra fee of $29 USD per person).


Can I take my bag onboard?

Yes, but we would recommend not bringing items that you would not want to get wet.


Where do you pick up divers?

We can pick you up at: Fiesta Americana Hotel, Explorean, Landmark Resort, Paradise Condominiums, Costa del Sol Condos, Sunscape Sabor, Secrets Hotel, Allegro Resort, Grand Occidental, Iberostar.

We also pick up at beach clubs and private homes in the south.


How long does it take to get to the reefs?

Our boats can reach dive sites between 25-35 minutes from our dive store.


Can you take me to a specific reef? How are dive sites chosen?

We have a reef schedule that is adjusted based on our divers’ preferences and skills. If you have a particular reef you’d like to visit, let us know and we will do our best to get you there.


What will we see?

Cozumel has a wide variety of marine life: turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks, schools of snappers, barracudas, seahorses and more!


Do you do night dives?

Yes, we do night dives! Our night dive departures vary according to the sunset hour. We must have at least four divers signed up to do a night dive.


Where is the closest hyperbaric chamber?

There are many chambers on the island, but the only DAN certified Hyperbaric Chamber Facility in Cozumel is located at the CMC Costa Med Hospital. We are a Divers Alert Network business member.


How do we make payments and what happens if we have to cancel?

Reservation, payment, and cancellation information can be found on our cancellation policy.


Can I cancel my reservation and what is your refund policy?

  • Cancellations made by 7pm the night before your reservation will receive a full refund. If you make a cancellation by phone, please make sure to note the name of the person confirming the cancellation.
  • If the Harbour master closes the Port and boats are not permitted to make departures, reservations may be re-scheduled free of charge. If your itinerary doesn’t align with the rescheduleing options, you will receive a 100% refund.
  • Cancellations made the same day of service, before 60 minutes of departure, will receive a 50% refund. Last minute re-scheduling fee of 20% applies, for changes within 60min of departure.
  • For no-shows there is no refund. No exceptions.
